You can get anything you want...

You know, if one state, just one state decides people can carry guns without a permit, people may think it's really sick and they won't listen to it. And if two states, two states do it--in harmony--they may think they're both faggots and they won't listen to either one of 'em. And three states do it, three, can you imagine, three states all deciding that free people can carry guns with nobody's permission... They may think it's an organization. And can you, can you imagine a fourth state electing a governor who promised in his campaign to sign another Constitutional carry bill into law... And friends, they may think it's a movement.

  1. This is how "shall-issue" concealed carry starts. Not with a bang, but a whisper. AZ is Constitutional Carry's FL.

Remember, FL was not the first state to have "shall-issue" laws; that would be WA...

  2. I see what you mean. Since I got involved in gun rights, VT and AK were just sort of those weird states in the background that everybody knew did things differently. Seeing a lower-48 state _change_ its system to Constitutional carry, and in the midst of a political phase with so much positive movement on gun rights... It changed my perspective on the prospects of carry rights. Just like, I suppose, Florida did for shall-issue.

  3. From what I recall back in the day, FL went shall-issue sort of accidentally; by repealing an omnibus law that included the "show good cause" clause. But I could be having a flare-up of CRS syndrome, too.
